I am a native of Northern Virginia, grew up there, and worked most of my life there. I had all advantages that come with the area including a good school system and a relatively resilient economy.

After attending George Mason University and facing a recession, I maneuvered my way into the Fairfax County Fire Department. I had a wonderful 25 year career with the Fire Service and built strong friendships with many good people. I had the opportunity to serve in many capacities while with the Fire Department. I continued attending college, studying a variety of subjects, one of which turned out to be my second career and passion - computers.

gtoolz: [link to download files] This is a python3 “module” of many python tools. Contains many useful tools that I use regularly. Many tools allow color ansi terminal applications, tables from any kind of data or csv files, progress bars, spinners, colorization tools, print format tools, centering text (justifying text), box text, shadow boxes of text.
gomenu - [link to gomenu] This is a bash shell script that builds and allows editing of menus on the command-line
newspaper-hugo-subtheme - [link to newspaper-hugo-subtheme] This project allows you to add a newspaper look and feel theme to an existing hugo website. Here is a demo of what it looks like:

myphile: [discontinued - this was a PHP project that I replaced with myphyle which is python based] this is an old php project that I wrote years ago to manage mysql flat file databases - I use adminer now
myphyle: [link to myphyle] This project allows you to browse/edit/add/delete to sqlite database tables - replaces older “myphile” project.
quizit: [link to quizit] Quick-n-dirty python app to present a text based quiz to a user using easy to write text data files for questions and answers.
